This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines prohibited content and behavior on Central Nexus. By using our platform, you agree to follow these guidelines to maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming community for all users.

2. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on Central Nexus:

2.1 Hate Speech and Harassment

  • Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Harassment, bullying, or targeted attacks against individuals or groups
  • Threats of violence or harm

2.2 Sexually Explicit or Exploitative Content

  • Pornography or sexually explicit material
  • Content involving minors in sexual or suggestive contexts (zero tolerance)
  • Non-consensual sharing of intimate images

2.3 Illegal Content

  • Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity
  • Pirated software, games, or copyrighted material
  • Instructions for creating weapons, drugs, or explosives

2.4 Spam, Phishing, and Malware

  • Unsolicited advertising or promotional content
  • Phishing attempts or scams
  • Malware, viruses, or malicious links
  • Pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing

2.5 Impersonation and Fraud

  • Impersonating other users, moderators, or Central Nexus staff
  • Creating fake accounts or identities to deceive others
  • Fraudulent activity or financial scams
  • Posting copyrighted material without permission (text, images, music, etc.)
  • Using others' intellectual property without authorization
  • Sharing pirated VTT assets or game content

3. Prohibited Behavior

3.1 Harassment and Bullying

  • Repeatedly targeting a user with unwanted messages or friend requests
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns
  • Doxxing (sharing personal information without consent)

3.2 Platform Manipulation

  • Creating multiple accounts to manipulate matchmaking or voting systems
  • Using bots or automated scripts to spam or manipulate the platform
  • Artificially inflating reputation scores or gaming chemistry matching

3.3 Unauthorized Access

  • Attempting to access other users' accounts
  • Exploiting security vulnerabilities or bugs (report them instead)
  • Attempting to bypass platform restrictions or access controls

3.4 Disruptive Behavior in VTT Sessions

  • Sabotaging campaigns or VTT sessions
  • Griefing other players' gameplay experiences
  • Intentionally causing technical disruptions

4. Enforcement

4.1 Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this AUP, please report it:

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Content Removal: Violating content will be removed from the platform
  • Warning: First-time or minor violations may result in a warning
  • Temporary Suspension: Account access suspended for 7-30 days
  • Permanent Ban: Account permanently terminated for severe or repeat violations
  • Legal Action: Illegal activity may be reported to law enforcement

4.3 Appeals Process

If you believe your account was suspended or content was removed in error, you may appeal by contacting:

  • Include your username, the violation notice, and why you believe the action was incorrect
  • Appeals are typically reviewed within 5-7 business days

5. Age Restrictions

Central Nexus is intended for users 13 years and older (COPPA compliance). Users under 18 should have parental guidance when using the platform. We do not permit content targeting or exploiting minors.

6. Responsible Gaming

While tabletop RPGs often involve fantasy violence and mature themes, we encourage responsible content creation:

  • Mark mature content appropriately (future feature)
  • Respect other players' boundaries and content preferences
  • Use content warnings for sensitive topics (violence, horror, etc.)
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming gaming environment

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as needed. Changes will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Central Nexus after changes constitutes acceptance.
